Cavansite is a beautiful and rare mineral that forms sparkling blue crystals and it is a very rare hydrous calcium vanadium oxide silicate mineral that crystallizes in prismatic crystals and rosettes. It can only be found in a small town in India. Because of its rarity and difficulty to mine, Cavansite is rarely collected.
Cavansite is usually blue in color, with shades ranging from ultramarine blue to greenish blue. This stone was first found in Oregon, USA, in 1967. Cavansite deposits have also been found in the USA, Brazil, and New Zealand in recent years.
These blue crystals often grow naturally combined with Stilbite. The Stilbite is usually colored white when combined this way, and this is a lovely natural combination.
